The presentation will make a case for the importance of incorporating youth in the development and implementation of violence prevention strategies. Models for youth empowerment, youth development and youth organizing as strategies for community level and individual level change will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

• At the conclusion of the presentation the participants will be informed of the current framework and research as it relates to teen violence prevention.
