Manhattan Borough President's Commission to Close the Health Divide: Government's Response to Eliminating Health Disparities

The speaker will present on the Commission to Close the Health Divide. The Commission is comprised of government, healthcare, academic and community leaders who have come together to identify solutions to the problem of health disparities among communities of color in New York City. Borough President Fields will discuss key factors that contribute to health disparities, as identified by the Commission. She will then discuss policy, legislative and budgetary solutions to health disparities and short-term versus long-term strategies for implementing these solutions.
