Surveillance and Survey Data: Implications for Prevention, Programs and Policies
Childhood overweight has increased dramatically in recent years. School have a critical role in providing not only academic stimulation but environments that promote healthy eating and phyical activity. The purpose of this session is to provide qualitative study data to understand how school environments impact nutrition and physical activity and to provide strategies that have been used to impact school policies that relate to nutrition and physical activity.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will 1.Describe school policies that encourage healthy eating and physical activity; 2. Describe students' perceptions of weight activities
