This poster session presents a range of studies. Two focus on factors associated with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds related to end of life issues and how health care policy changes have differentially affected diverse people. Three posters focus on health and mental health issues related to pregnant women, maternal/infant, and child populations. Two focus on youth population; specifically judges' percdeptions of CASA volunteers effectivenss in juvenile abuse, and homeless youth resiliency. One poster focuses on the role of spirituality in rehabiliation for an aging population. Another poster focuses on affecting change through advocacy tools. The final poster focuses on social work curriculum development for service delivery and collaborative multidisciplinary practice. | |||
Learning Objectives: Attendees will understand factors associated with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds related to end of life issues and how health care policy changes have differentially affected diverse people. Attendees will understand the Edinburgh post-natal depression screen. Attendees will understand the development of site appropriate case management models. Attendees will understand how to replicate the childhood insurance outreach program. Attendees will be able to describe the functions and responsibilities of a court-appointed special advocate for children volunteer. Attendees will be able to develop an initial plan for meeting the needs of homeless youth. Attendees will be able to describe critical information regarding spiritual issues for healthcare professionals working inthe aging and rehabilitation arena. Attendees will know how to utilize advocacy tools to positively affect change. Attendees will understand recommendations for curriculum implementation to adequately prepare social workers for multidisciplinary integrated care. | |||
