The Challenge of Leadership in Public Health
Medical directors, managers and boards of directors of public health organizations face many ethical challenges in providing quality health care delivery in the United States. The risks of legal and financial issues, as a result of non-compliance with federal health privacy laws, underscore the importance of leadership development as a means of insuring personal effectiveness in the day-to-day operation of public health organizations.
Learning Objectives: To provide concrete models to support leadership development, and intra-agency strategies for compliance with federal laws and enforcement initiatives.
