Baseline level of obesity defined, followed by continuous monitoring and evaluation. Community based programs initiated in each of the districts, and yearly competition with prizes awarded to the district with greatest percentage decrease in obesity level of the population. Proposed legislative backing as to the type of foods sold and served in restaurants and food outlets.
Results anticipated: Influencing and changing the behavioral pattern of the population regarding decreasing sugar intake and getting the populace to appreciate the importance of regular exercise are the most challenging issues.
