In order to meet the needs of women and men for reproductive health and HIV/AIDS services, it is important to miss no opportunities to provide these services, including through integrated programs, where appropriate. This session describes programs that are working to integrate family planning into components of HIV/AIDS programs in the developing world. One paper (Hardee et al.) discusses family planning in the context of HIV/AIDS programs in four countries (Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia and Cambodia). The other four papers focus on Kenya. Two papers (Wiltcher et al., and Reynolds et al.) describe Kenya’s VCT program and interventions designed to integrate family planning into VCT services. The fourth paper (Lynam et al.) describes and intervention to give VCT counselors the tools to address family planning during counseling. The fifth paper in the session (Baek et al.) assesses the fertility desires of HIV positive women in Nairobi, Kenya and their demand for family planning. | |||
