Reducing Infant Mortality and SIDS: The Role of Health Care Services and Safe Sleeping Practices
This session will discuss the role of health care services and safe sleeping practices in reducing infant mortality and Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in the United States.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe patterns and trends in race/ethnic-specific infant mortality. 2. Discuss prenatal care coordination strategies for high risk pregnant women. 3. Describe safe sleeping practices for infants to reduce the risk of SIDS.
