3091.0: Monday, December 12, 2005: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM
Panel Discussion
Implementing Evidence-Based Health Care within the Chiropractic Profession
The most meaningful trend to emerge in health care in the past 25 years has been the development of the principles of Evidence-Based Health Care (EBHC). This panel will address the issue of how the chiropractic profession promotes EBHC within its ranks. The issues will be addressed from four different perspectives: professional education, private practice, government, and third party payors. A representative from each domain will present details of a specific program they have administered that is intended to promote EBHC within chiropractic.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
  • Describe the specific elements of four EBHC programs within the chiropractic profession.
  • Recognize the barriers to implementing EBHC principles in chiropractic.
  • Construct plans to overcome barriers to implementing EBHC principles in chiropractic.
