Innovative Approaches to Improve Healthy Outcomes for Children
During the session participants will be able to understand: the issues involved in training grandmothers as lay health workers in the concept of the medical home; that subspecialty referrals is critical to patient's adherence with pediatric subspecialty appointments; potential sources of racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare experienced by African-American parents seeking primary care for their children and the strategies for youth chronic disease prevention.
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to understand: the issues involved in training grandmothers as lay health workers in the concept of the medical home; that subspecialty referrals is critical to patient's adherence with pediatric subspecialty appointments; potential sources of racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare experienced by African-American parents seeking primary care for their children and the strategies for youth chronic disease prevention.
