This session provides sampling of strategic planning tools used at the local, state and national level designed to help identify and align priorities and set strategic direction for organizations. Each example describes the identified need for strategic planning, including the changing environment and increasing need for accountability. Environmental scan, SWOT analysis and other standard strategic planning tools are now supplemented with performance measures and systems modeling to provide a more comprehensive approach to strategic planning. Presenters will provide concrete strategies and tools that have been effectively implemented in various locations and share the lessons learned in assuring a successful strategic planning approach. | |||
