Cancer Screening
In this session, the learner will hear about various cancer screening programs and potential barriers to screening for different ethnic groups. The relationship between obesity and cancer screening will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Discuss possible strategies for cancer prevention and screening among API in general and Asian Indians in particular 2. To identify socio-cultural barriers for colorectal cancer screening among Hispanics/Latinos in the US 3. Understand the relationship between obesity and cervical cancer screening 4. Understand the relationship between obesity and colon cancer screening practices 5. Describe and discuss health disparity in cancer screening recommendations
