Integrating Collection of Biophysical Measures with Questionnaire- Based Health Research in the Population setting: Experiences from the National Social Life, Health and Aging Project
In this session the learner will hear about the usefulness of collecting biomarkers in Epidemiologic studies. Methods of collecting biological data to maximize data quality will be reviewed.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) will be able to: 1. Address policy implications of large scale population-based biomarker collection 2. Discuss approaches for operationalizing biomarker collection in a national population-based survey 3. Discuss the multi-dimensional approach used to train lay people to collect biological data and its impact on data quality 4. Understand human subjects implications of collecting biophysical data in a population-based study, including current policy recommendations.
