This session will provide public health nurses and other public health professionals with a greater understanding of global women's health issues. The Fourth World Conference on Women: Action, Equality, Development, and Peace in Beijing 10 years ago was viewed as a milestone in promoting women's health issues and human rights. Ten years have past and it is time to evaluate progress on the goals set at that conference. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of global women's health issues and a greater appreciation of the barriers to education, health, social and political status, and human rights abuses that women face.
Learning Objectives: 1. Evaluate the national and global response over the past 10 years to the advancement of women since the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women: Action, Equality, Development, and Peace in Beijing.
