Sharps injuries and occupational health: An application of statistical process control for analyzing and improving worker safety

This presentation will describe research examining the implementation and impact of statistical process control (SPC) interventions designed to improve quality, safety, and efficiency in health system settings. Core principles and elements of statistical process control techniques will be examined, along with methods for assessing the impact of SPC interventions on health system operations and outcomes. Examples of a specific SPC application to reduce sharps injuries and improve health care worker safety will be examined.
