This session will describe Massachusetts' new health reform law, Chapter 58, signed in April 2006. We will outline the details of the new law. We will present the employer and individual mandate sections. We will discuss the process by which the law achieved passage. We will discuss the national implications of the new law and its applicability in other states and jurisdictions. We will contrast the Massachusetts and Maryland approaches to employer responsibility.
