Advocating for Public Health: Successful Models for Enacting Policy, Regulations and Legislation
This session will describe how to translate community-based participatory research into advocacy strategies, apply lessons learned from the Turning Point Act experience to state legislative reform efforts and identify the barriers involved in establishing a county health department.
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to: 1)translate community-based participatory research into advocacy strategies; 2)apply lessons learned from the Turning Point Act experience to state legislative reform efforts and 3)identify the barriers involved in establishing a county health department.
