The Epidemiology Section welcomes the opportunity to focus on cancer surveillance in Massachusetts. Specific topics will focus on: cancer in the elderly (age 85 or older), thyroid cancer, melanoma, and prostate cancer. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Identify patterns of cancer incidence, mortality and stage at diagnosis in the elderly in Massachusetts 2. Describe the epidemiology of thyroid cancer in Massachusetts, including time trends, age, and race/ethnicity 3. Describe how the trends for developing melanoma and dying from melanoma are appearing in Massachusetts of a 21-year time period 4. Describe the difference in the distribution of prostate cancer incidence between white males and black males | |||
