Health Disparities Research Agenda - Town Hall Discussion
In 2005 an invitational meeting of multidisciplinary researchers and practitioners was convened to discuss what areas of research need further examination to close the gap in health and social inequalities. This presentation will discuss the results of that meeting and the recommendations for future research. Time will be included for audience dialogue about the recommendations.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Articulate the major recommendations for health education research in eliminating racial and ethnic health disparities, which resulted from the Society for Public Health Education meeting. 2. Identify tools and resources available for translating and disseminating the research agenda to various stakeholders, including communities. 3. Provide input and recommendations for refining the research agenda for eliminating health disparities and broadening its dissemination.
