Recent articles in the popular press discuss the shifting environment for U.S. workers. According to these reports, the average worker will change positions and careers many times throughout their working life. The speakers in this session will discuss what changes might be coming your way and how to prepare for their arrival. The speakers will also engage the audience in developing an understanding of how the skills of health education translate to nontraditional health education areas. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Describe the realities of the dramatic shift in work paradigms in America and the implications for public health specialists. 2. Identify his or her current approach to career development and place in the career life-cycle. 3. Integrate principles of proactive personal career development discussed in this session into an initial professional development commitment. | |||
