Effective health education and health promotion activities often require new and creative approaches. The speakers in this session will describe several programs that use innovative practices or apply health education strategies in new ways. The session will include a discussion of programs designed for agricultural workers, pharmacy students, individuals with disabilities, and under- and un-insured, middle-aged women. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Evaluate effectiveness of innovative health promotion programs at reaching their intended audiences. 2. Articulate the importance of public health education in professional programs such as pharmacy practice. 3. Discuss approaches to responding to a community's request for technical assistance on science-based health promotion approaches. | |||
