Breast Health, Breast Cancer, and Survivorship
More than 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and breast cancer continues to rank among the leading causes of death among women. This session will focus on issues of breast health, breast cancer and breast cancer survivorship. Topics range from prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship. Specifically, presenters will discuss issues pertaining to breast cancer awareness and education, health literacy, quality of life after diagnosis and health disparities.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify factors affecting the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. 2. Describe barriers to access to information and breast health care. 3. Describe approaches to reduce breast cancer mortality and improve survivors' quality of life.
