Changes of the staff structure in a state public health association- moving from no staff to volunteer staff; from part-time to full-time; solo director to an entire team of staff- can significantly change the dynamics and duties within the organization. While these changes can be a difficult adjustment, they can also strengthen the voice, infrastructure and efficacy of the association. Through an interactive discussion, panelists and audience members will describe their public health associations' frustrations and successes with internal structural shifts.
Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will learn lessons from Affiliates that have experienced staff restructuring and examine the change in responsibility, job duty, and interaction of various staff and volunteers within the association. 2. In anticipation of the Kellogg grant, participants will discuss how Affiliates can build their infrastructure through the possible addition of staff and/or volunteers.
