Informatics is becoming an important component of the practice of public health, but is relatively unfamiliar to most public health practitioners. This session provides the learner with definitions of informatics concepts and principles.

Learning Objectives:
Identify the role of informatics in public health practice. Describe at least five key approaches and uses of public health informatics.
