This session will explore the unique issues present for children exposed to family violence. It will also describe the unique effects of family violence on the developmental experiences of children and challenge the attendees to assess the effectiveness of current and developed strategies that expressly mediate the effects of family violence on children in the context of safety for all.
Session Objectives: 1. Identify and learn about risk factors present when children live in an environment where family violence occurs. 2. Describe the unique challenges faced by children whose home environments experience family violence. 3. Assess the effectiveness of interventions developed to mediate the effects of family violence for children.
