Currently, the US Department of Health and Human Services is designing Healthy People 2020. This decennial activity identifies national health goals and objectives that have wide reaching consequences for health and health care in local communities throughout the United States. This session will describe the current national thinking on the proposed vision, goals, and mission for Healthy People 2020. Further, participants will be afforded an opportunity to offer input for Healthy People 2020 on mental health and substance use conditions and their prevention, as well as on care and outcomes. The session is a very important opportunity for each of these fields to help design its own future.
