Through the MATCH Project, the West Virginia State University (WVSU) Cooperative Extension Program focused on the development of an information clearinghouse to promote preparedness for the residents of Kanawha County, WV. The purpose of the clearinghouse was to provide easily accessible and pertinent information on health concerns related to new and emerging infectious diseases. The project enabled WVSU to initiate a sustainable approach to information sharing supported by local, state and regional partners.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will have a greater understanding of the variety of relationships and collaborations needed to initiate a community preparedness information clearinghouse for new and emerging infectious diseases in underserved and disenfranchised communities.
