This presentation highlights the health communication work of the Center for Communication Programs at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health across multiple health domains. In addition to describing recent advances in health communication programming, it provides data from programs in different countries that demonstrate effectiveness using a range of evaluation techniques. A recent survey in South Africa is particularly important both in demonstrating communication effectiveness and in capturing the effects of different programs by different donors in the realm of HIV/AIDS.

Learning Objectives:
Identify means of determining the effectiveness of health communication programs. Analyze data presented from specific projects. Articulate methodological limitations of evaluating health communication programs.
