This session presents methods for and results from national health surveys. Surveys discussed include the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, a survey of state public health agencies, the National Survey of Drug Use and Health, and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey Linked Mortality File. Survey nonresponse bias is also discussed.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe information obtained from national surveys.
2. Identify top priorities of and services provided by state public health agencies.
3. Identify factors that influence survey reliability and validity.
