This session will allow for discussion and identifucation of several effective partnerships that are addressing homelessness and suggestions for improving models and evaluation.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss the housing first supportive housing model and impact on health status. 2. Discuss the public cost burden of homeless hospital frequent users in Emergency departments. 3. Identify barriers to medical care identified by homeless. 4. Identify barriers for homeless to medical care perceived by clinic directors. 5. Describe function and contributions of public health students on a health care team providing care to homeless. 6. Identify methods to outreach to unsheltered homeless people. 7. Discuss evaluation and program effectiveness of homeless medical services.
