This session discusses physical activity and obesity prevention strategies that specifically relate to women. Individual presentations topics include the effects of the menstrual cycle of physical activity, and the cost effectiveness of a weight loss intervention targeting women. In addition, presentations on physical activity among pregnant women are included.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe the effects of engaging in physical activity while pregnant. 2. Understand factors relating to women that affect engagement in physical activity. 3. Discuss obesity prevention strategies targeting women.
