Childhood overweight and obesity is a public health challenge. Healthy nutrition – its availability – and the school environment are explored. Presenters share sustainable strategies for promoting healthy nutritional choices in school environments.
Session Objectives:
Understand variation in school food environments by poverty, race/ethnicity, and school level.
Discuss the adoption of environmental strategies to fight obesity among youth.
Discuss implications for implementing school nutrition policy that promote healthy choices.
