This presentation will describe the process that is being followed to develop and launch a National Physical Acitivity Plan for the U.S. Key steps in the process include formation of a coordinating committee, identification of organizational partners, authorship and publication of “white papers” on promotion of physical activity in eight societal sectors, formation of working groups for each of the sectors, conduct a national conference, partnership with government and non-government organizations, integration of implementation tactics, and preparation for a highly visible launch of the Plan.
