Panel Discussion
This session will familiarize the audience with the on-going efforts to develop, launch and implement a comprehensive National Physical Activity Plan for the U.S. The process adopted for development of the plan will be described, as will the current status of the Plan at the time of the presentation. The roes of government and non-government entities in development of the Plan will be described. Specific strategies for launching the Plan and the sustained effort to implement it will be discussed.
Session Objectives: Discuss the process that is being followed to develop a National Physical Activity Plan and the manner in which the Plan will be launched.
Describe the process that will support a sustained effort to implement the Plan and the steps that will be taken to evaluate it.
Identify the implications of the Plan for state and local public health agencies.
