The purpose of this panel session is to discuss government research programs and regulations on construction, research and surveillance activities at the Center for Construction Research and Training, and health and safety issues in construction workers. The session will cover the following topics by four speakers: 1. NORA National Construction Agenda (Speaker: Matt Gillen, MS, CIH, Construction Coordinator, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) 2. Construction research programs at the Center for Construction Research and Training (Speaker: Janie Gittleman, PhD, MRP, the Center for Construction Research and Training) 3. Construction health hazards—OSHA regulatory perspectives and update (Speaker: Jason T. Capriotti, CIH, CSP, Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 4. COSH perspectives on construction safety and health issues (Speaker: Peter Dooley, MS, CIH, CSP, Construction Occupational Safety and Health) Through this session, participants will: 1. Gain understanding and knowledge for current government construction research programs and regulations, research activities and issues for construction workers. 2. Be able to apply knowledge and research goals to the development of future construction research programs.
Session Objectives: * Discuss current government constuction research programs and regulation, and also Construction Research Center's research activities and issues for construction workers * Identify government's research goals and to gaing knowledge to develop future construction research programs.
