Panel Discussion
This session will allow students to explore the field of public health and find ways to enhance their academic training through discussions with prominent public health figures, both practioners and academics. It will also give attendees an opportunity to consider their future in public health. Participants will learn what qualities and experiences employers are seeking in potential employees and how best to network and identify employment opportunities in their field of interest. This session focuses on careers in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Genomics, and Injury Contro & Emergency Health Services.
Session Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) will be able to: 1) Identify ways to enhance his/her academic training, 2) Identify plans to assess career goals and opportunities, and 3) List implications for his/her own career in public health.
