CDC, HRSA and others funded capacity building efforts for state oral health programs. Currently, as a part of an overall evaluation, CDC is analyzing data from in-depth case studies of four states and from the 12 states and one territory that were funded during 2003-2008, as well as evaluating progress made by all 13 grantees. This session will report on selected results of case studies and evaluation findings and the perspective of American Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors. The session explores the factors that strengthen capacity at the state level and efforts to measure competencies will be presented.
Session Objectives: Identify components of state oral health program capacity and the potential to further goals and objective. Describe factors that facilitate strengthening of state oral health program capacity.
