This session explores the impact of water on health by discussing communities with access to clean, safe water and communities that do not. Specific cases of water privatization and issues with sharing clean water are given using Israel, Palestine, and South Africa as exemplars. The role of health care providers in assuring the provision of safe water for all people is discussed.
Session Objectives: Discuss the relationship between access to safe water and human health. Describe the role of health care providers in advocating for safe water for community members. Explain the impact of water privatization on human health.
