Overweight and obesity is a public health epidemic among both adults and youth. As this problem is complex, multiple, a wide range of behaviors and audiences must be addressed if we are to reduce or even contain current rates. This session looks at various programs aimed at reducing overweight and obesity in diverse populations.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify strategies for developing and sustaining strong partnerships for obesity prevention and control;
2. Describe factors contributing to weight status, physical activity habits and dietary intake;
3. Apply lessons learned to develop and implement obesity control and prevention programs.
