The culture and art of a society provide a window to peoples' most basic beliefs and values. Artistic expression is a means of communicating both root causes of war and pathways to peace. This session will offer cultural and artistic examples that can aid public health workers in a better understanding of human conflict, the means to peaceful conflict resolution and, accordingly, improved health and well-being.
Session Objectives: Demonstrate the importance of art and culture in describing the etiology of human conflict and illuminating ways to prevent conflict and promote peace.
