Based upon the new book by Michael Pertschuk called “The DeMarco Factor,: Transforming Public Will Into Political Power,” this presentation will describe how in several public health campaigns to reduce gun violence and teen smoking and expand health care we successfully advocated before state and local policy makers. The presentation will also describe how we made sure to keep with the federal and state legal requirements for non profits doing advocacy work while at the same time maximizing our work.

Explain how to fully implement public health laws that get enacted.
