This session will discuss issues related to disability, aging, and public Health with topics ranging from burden of hearing loss on the quality of life among older adults, factors influencing driving avoidance among older drivers, multimorbidity and disability among elderly Medicare beneficiaries, the mental capacity of crime victims with dementia and cognitive impairment for self-advocacy, disparities in access and utilization among individuals with disabilities, to reports of seizure history and problems with activities of daily living in a Medicare population.
Session Objectives: 1. Evaluate the effect of multimorbidity on disability.
2. Describe the relation between health insurance and patient/provider interactions and health care access and use among individuals with disabilities.
3. Describe the elements of determining capacity utilizing the Paradise-2 Model of Mental Capacity.
