This session discusses the environmental strategies for
healthy eating and active living done by the Denver Department of
Environmental Health. Here they discuss methods used to understand and
identify gaps, and strategies created to fulfill these gaps in terms of
health education as well as environmental and policy approaches for
encouraging healthy behavior.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be better able to
1.Identify at least two community-level policy or environmental strategies related to healthy eating or active living.
2.Describe at least one step to engage community residents and partners in policy development efforts.
3.Asses both individual and community needs for health education
