The purpose of this session is to explore issues related specifically to minority involvement in clinical trials in the context of HIV. Presentations will explore the role of minorities in research as it can enhance research outcomes specific to treatment and prevention. This session provides the opportunity to understand issues related to minority recruitment into clinical trials in the context of the epidemic today. Participants will have opportunities to discuss how involvement impacts HIV research findings.
Session Objectives: Evaluate efforts to enhance minority recruitment in HIV clinical trials
Describe factors that reduce involvement in clinical trials
Analyze methods to recruit and retain minorities in HIV clinical trials
