A decade of telehealth program development shows that a program that utilizes a structured program development approach that incorporates known best practices affords the highest likelihood for success.

This presentation will discuss the best practices utilized by successful Telehealth programs and identify the recommended program development process. Areas to consider during program implementation include organizational readiness, needs assessment, business case development, program implementation and program monitoring, amongst other things.

The presentation focuses on a detailed seven step approach to program development. Each of the steps is designed to allow an organization to consider critical aspects of development and to support decision making during the implementation process. This approach has been carefully developed for us at all types of service settings and applies to both small and large facilities. It provides a standardized approach to traveling the road from initial program interest to program implementation.
