245058 Principles for a Healthy Sustainable Food System: A Foundation for Healthier, More Just CommunitiesTuesday, November 1, 2011: 5:30 PM
Policy and environmental changes have been key contributors to the epidemics of obesity and related disease. To address these epidemics will therefore require concerted and coordinated efforts to create policies that support healthier community food systems and environments. Broad support for this change can be fostered by public health agencies and professionals articulating their vision for healthier, more sustainable food systems along with potential partners outside of public health, to coordinate work to bring about this vision together. That is why APHA is pleased to have co-developed the Principles for a Healthy Sustainable Food System (www.HealthyFoodSystem.org
