In May 2011, The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Head Start (OHS)announced the availabilty of funds for a National Center on Health. The Center on Health will showcase evidenced-based practices that ensure all HS/EHS agencies have access to the same level of high quality information, training and technical assistance(T/TA)in order to produce the best possible outcomes for children. The Center will focus on health,oral health,mental health,and nutrition for pregnant women and children birth to five as well as their families. The Center's role in working with the other five OHS National Centers and other partners will be discussed as part of a well managed system of health services organized to benefit families and children enrolled in Head Start.
Learning Objectives: Describe the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Head Start(OHS) new Center on Health and explain the oral health component that will lead to improved oral health for Head Start children adn families.
