Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am qualified to present, because I am president and chief executive officer of Health Literacy Missouri (HLM), being named a “Health Care Hero” by the St. Louis Business Journal. Prior to being named President and CEO, I served as Interim Executive Director of HLM and, since 2007, as the Senior Advisor to the Missouri Foundation for Health. In that role, I chaired the Missouri Health Literacy Enhancement Coordinating Council and facilitated the development of HLM. I am a member of the Institute of Medicine's Roundtable on Health Literacy. I hold faculty appointments at the Saint Louis University School of Public Health and the University of Missouri School for the Health Professions. I am also a member of the editorial advisory board for Global Health. I spent 31 years as a faculty member and a dean at the Boston University schools of medicine and public health. I agree to comply with the American Public Health Association Conflict of Interest and Commercial Support Guidelines, and to disclose to the participants any off-label or experimental uses of a commercial product or service discussed in my presentation.
