Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Alisha Ellwood, MA, LMFT is chair of the Minnesota Health Literacy Partnership, a program of the MN Literacy Council. Ms Ellwood is also a Project Manager in Health Care Improvement for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, where she is responsible for developing and promoting health literacy activities. Ms Ellwood serves on the Multilingual Health Resource Exchange and America’s Health Insurance Plans Health Literacy Task Force. She has been speaking and providing training in relation to health literacy since 2005. In 2007, Ms Ellwood provided health literacy training at the MN Pharmacists Association: 123rd Annual Meeting, the Saint Louis University Family Medicine Residency Program and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, 9th Annual MCH Summer Institute Addressing Health Disparities: Culture, Communications and Health. Ms. Ellwood is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and provides mental health counseling services through BHSI Behavioral Health Services in Eagan, Minnesota.
