This important session will cover timely topics in the area of diabetes epidemiology. Specifics talks will include: preventive care for diabetes in older U.S. populations; Age-Adjusted Diabetes Mortality Rates for Chicago by Race/Ethnicity: 1991-2007; diabetes among Chinese, Korean, and Asian Indians in New York City; biopsychosocial predictors of diabetes self-care among African American and Latino patients with type 2 diabetes; and mapping diabetes-related rates and resources using geographic information systems and secondary data.
